Rilee Rossouw has won the toss and Quetta Gladiators are going to bowl first
It's a different pitch tonight. Waqar Younis says the pitch looks drier and spinners might need to bowl fuller to get purchase. He recommends bowling within the stumps. Wasim Akram says it's a turner and the ball is expected to come nicely onto the bat, as opposed to yesterday
6:05pm: Hello and welcome to our live ball-by-ball coverage of the 16th match of PSL 9 between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators. I'm Rvel Zahid I'll be taking you through this one. Karachi Kings began the Karachi-leg last night on a low-key note and were lackadaisical, playing catch-up for most of the game against Islamabad United. They started slowly with the bat, slipped in the middle overs, and some late onslaught towards the death from Kieron Pollard and Irfan Niazi gave some respectability to their total but it wasn't enough. Mir Hamza and Hasan Ali were expensive and Tabraiz Shamsi was taken to the cleaners in his first over as Colin Munro and Alex Hales broke the back of the chase. Only Mohammad Nawaz managed to stem the run-flow; he bowled beautifully, returning 1/23, albeit in a losing cause.
On the other hand, Multan Sultans ended their last home fixture with a victory over Quetta Gladiators. Saud Shakeel, Khawaja Nafay and Rilee Rossouw all got starts, but nobody could hang around long enough to keep the asking rate in check and get closer to 181-target. Multan got a sniff with a timely wicket and got back in the game. It would have been a closer contest had any of those top batters from Quetta taken the game down to the wire. Multan were able to dominate the last five overs while batting first and carried the momentum in the bowling as well
